Abstract: PANGANIBAN, JANETTE S. and SARMIENTO, FLORIBEL S. Design and Development of an Inductance and Capacitance Meter Incorporated to an Ordinary Digital Multimeter for the Electronics and Electricity Laboratory Room of College of Engineering and Information Technology. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2004. Adviser: Mary-Anne D. Costa. The Design and Development of an Inductance and Capacitance Meter Incorporated to an Ordinary Digital Multimeter for the Electronics and Electricity Laboratory Room of College of Engineering and Information Technology was constructed at Conchu, Trece Martires City, and Cavite. The primary purpose of the study is to construct a multifunctional electronic device that can be used in the Electricity and Electronics Laboratory Room of College of Engineering and Information Technology for the benefit of both students and faculty members. The hardware of the system consists of Inductance Meter, Capacitance Meter, Ammeter, Ohmmeter and Voltmeter. A 3 'A digit A/D Converter was used for the display output. The device has push button and selector switches for the selection of function and ranges of the components to be tested for easy operation which was controlled by a Motorola 6802 microcontroller. Devices such as ICs, transistors, diodes, relays, capacitors and inductors. Were also used in the construction. The device was presented to the Design Project Adviser and Technical Critic for the preliminary evaluation at the Electricity and Electronics Laborat6ry Room on the first week of March 2004. The device performed quite satisfactorily but due to frequency instability and intermittent behavior of the main CPU, MPU failure occurred. Frequency instability was caused by high frequency (RF) used in the design while intermittent behavior of the main CPU was caused by very thin board traces which caused track resistance
