Abstract: DE CASTRO, DECERIE C., REYES, EFFERLYN B., RODRIGUEZ, MAUREEN MAE S. Workplace Environment as a Factor Affecting Workers’ Productivity Level of Semiconductor Manufacturing Companies. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Operations Management. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. June 2019. Adviser Engr. Gilberto S. David. This study was conducted to identify which component of the workplace environment greatly affect the workers’ productivity level, either physical or behavioral component. The study aimed: to determine the demographic profile of the workers in selected semiconductor manufacturing companies in Cavite; to determine the business profile of the companies; to determine the factors related to the workplace environment that can affect the workers’ productivity level: to identify the level of productivity of the workers in terms of quantity of output, quality of output and timeliness; and to determine if there is a significant relationship between the workplace environment and workers’ productivity level. The study was conducted in selected areas of Cavite such as the City of Dasmarinas and the City of General Trias from February to March 2019. The participants of the study are the production workers of selected semiconductor manufacturing companies in Cavite which are Cypress Semiconductor Philippines and Yeonho Electronics Manufacturing Philippines Inc. The participants were purposively selected based on the purposes of the study. Slovin's Formula was used to identify the number of participants needed in the study. Descriptive statistics such as frequency count, percentage, mean, range, standard deviation and rank was used in presenting the demographic profile, business profile of the participants and the factors under the workplace environment affecting the workers; productivity level. Likert scale was used to analyze the data related to the workplace environment and productivity level of the participants. This study revealed that both physical and behavioral component of the workplace environment has a significant relationship to the productivity level of the workers. lt shows that both physical and behavioral component is highly significant to productivity. Also, the study revealed that the component under the workplace environment that greatly affect the workers’ productivity is the physical component. Generally, the workers have a moderately conducive environment in terms of physical and behavioral component. While the participants’ productivity in terms of quality of output is very productive, quantity of output is moderately productive and timeliness is very productive.
