Abstract: DAMIL, PAUL BRIAN B., LUMACTOD, IAN NIÑO O., MAGALLANES, ERNA R., AND RUZGAL JR., CIRILO M., DIT TECHNOTHON: Rating And Gaming Assessment Approach In A Competitive Programming Community Platform For CS And IT Students of Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Ms. Ezra Marie F. Ramos. In the DIT Technothon, the facilitators facilitated a competitive programming event for the students of information technology and computer science for entertainment and learning. The competition included popular categories such as hackathons, query wars, programming contests, and computer graphics. Additionally, the major problem was a lack of sufficient systems to organize the particular competition. Because the scores were processed manually, the facilitators also experienced delays in informing competitors of their current scores. Also, the facilitators evaluate a large number of contestants' codes and submissions with the use of paperwork. The primary objective of this study is to develop a web-based system for the DIT Technothon and to effectively host a competitive programming competition. This system will serve as a tool that will provide accurate and detailed information about each participant in the event, including their performance in each activity, overall ranking, and competition. The web- based system was developed from January 2022 to June 2022 at Cavite State University's Main Campus. The software used the V-Model methodology for the SDLC process. Additionally, the proponent gathered data from interviews and finalized all the needs and used software tools, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MYSQL, and Visual Studio Code as a code editor, that are being used for the system. To develop a system design, the proponent provided a data flow diagram model and a system architecture model. Moreover, the web-based system was tested by several testers by using unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing based on ISO 9126. The researchers conducted an evaluation to determine if the system met the specified requirements by the end-user. Seventy-seven (77) students and twelve (12) IT professionals were surveyed, for a total of eighty-nine (89) respondents. Based on the results of the evaluation system, the technical with an average mean of 4.31 and non-technical with an average of 4.70 with both "Excellent" remarks, it was concluded that the system was reliable to host the events by providing this platform in the field of competitive programming.
