URETA, CARLOS AMADEO C., PESALOSA, COLEEN JAM T. AND JAMITO, ROMEL JOHN I. Development of Instructional Materials of Mardicas War Dance. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Physical Education. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2016. Adviser: Mrs. Jazmin Piores- Cubillio.
Our approach is to develop an instructional material of Mardicas war Dance. This
study showed the step by step procedure of the dance through instructional video evaluation instrument. We became interested with this study to see if there is development occurs in Philippine Folk Dance in terms of the costumes, props and music needed. As the concerned researcher reflects on Francisca Reyes-Aquino (Mother of Philippine dancing) on her study, it's stated that Philippine folk dances do not face extinction these are being threatened by distortion. She had no objection to innovations in the presentation, but she felt that folk dances should be left as they are because they are of the folk. To improve this study, first, we identify the folk dance that will be used. Second, we seek for the background of the dance in terms of history, costumes, props, music and dance notation. Third, we develop instructional material of Mardicas War Dance and lastly, we evaluated the developed instructional materials of Mardicas War Dance by dance experts.
This study benefits the students, teachers, dancers and future researchers. This
study gives them further nfo ation about the development of instructional materials in
folk dan in terms of history, costume, props and music. It can also be their source of
information when they perform or apply this dance during discussion.
