Cavite State University Indang,Cavite. January 2015. Adviser: Ms. Josephine P. Manapsal, MP RP. This study aimed to determine the: (1) socio-religious life of the participants before; (2) after undergoing hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) for more than a year; (3) what are the changes in their social life; (4) how do the participants, as transgender, deal with their socio-religious community; and (5) what are their socio-religious issues in life. With the use of purposive and snowball sampling, there were three participants involved in this case study. The interview questionnaire prepared by the researchers was the main instrument in getting the information needed, supported by a Socio-Religious Life Scale to confirm the participants' answers. This study was conducted from June 2014 to January 2015. The study was a qualitative multiple case study design, wherein the researchers used semi-structured interviews which is composed of 19 questions and a socio- religious scale with 42 questions, 22 for the social part and 20 for the religious part. The scale was used to support the participants' answers in the interview. The researchers used a semi structured interview to help participants freely express themselves in not a single session but over a series of encounters. The research revealed that the socio-religious life of the participants before HRT were: childhood gender confusion; struggle for family's acceptance; social acceptance; and discrimination in their religious community. After HRT, the participants socio- religious life were: social acceptance; tolerance; higher self-esteem; conflict with gender identity and religion; and devoted to God in their personal way.
