This study aimed to identify the significant relationship between the security measures
and level of effectiveness of security measures implemented by social media users on social
media apps.
The researchers used a quantitative descriptive correlational research design aimed to
give a glimpse of the existing situation and to uncover the relationship between variables and
anticipate future events based on current information among tertiary level students on
selected satellite campuses of Cavite State University. Since the researchers wanted to
identify the relationship between security measures and ievei of effectiveness of security
measures implemented by social media users on social media apps, the results suggested
that the security measures and level effectiveness of security measures from all sub variables
were Excellent. The result also indicated that there is no significant relationship between
security measures and level of effectiveness of security measures implemented by social
media users on social media apps.
Thus, researchers have concluded that the students in Satellite Campuses of Cavite
State University were aware of the different kinds of cybercrimes. As a result, they use various
security procedures to prevent their social media accounts from being compromised or
breached. Keywords: Security Password, Data Masking, Social Media Engagement
