Abstract: POBLETE, SHEILA MARIE P., Socio-Economic Condition of Families in the Resettlement Areas in Naic, Cavite: Basis for Community Development Program. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Social Work, College of Arts and Sciences, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2017. Adviser Ms. Imelda R. Filart. This study was conducted at the resettlement areas in Belmont Homes, Palangue Central and Dorothea Homes in Brgy. Halang Naic, Cavite from February 2017 — April 2017. It aimed the following: to determine the demographic profile of the participants in terms of age, sex, highest educational attainment, and occupation; to determine the current social condition of the families in the resettlement areas in terms of health, and economic. Specifically, this has do aimed to determine the suggested program of the participants in the resettlement areas that can be basis for Community Development, and to determine the everyday challenges of selected families in the resettlement areas in Belmont Homes and Dorothea Homes in Brgy, Halang and Palangue Central Naic, Cavite. Purposive sampling was used in the study wherein the researcher inferred with a sample population of 100 participants form Belmont Homes and Dorothea Homes in Brgy, Halang and Palangue Central Naic, Cavite, which targets the household who live at least one year in the resettlement. A survey questionnaire and interview guide were used as a tool in data gathering. The findings showed that most of the participants were ages 31 to 40 years old, mostly were female. In educational attainment, 32% was high school graduate and there were elementary graduate and college level. In occupation, most of them are construction workers and drivers. There is 29% of participants with a monthly income from 10,00112,000 monthly, while 52.08% is temporarily employed. On the social condition of the family, most of them have children who go to school and need health care.The result further shows that most of them suggested having a health center within the area and a pharmacy, and additional school for their children. In economic condition, they suggested to have a livelihood program like basahan making, detergent making or food processing and a capital to start a small scale business.
