AURELLANO “Assessment of Policy Implementation of Selected Local Government Units on Promotion, Conservation and Protection of Historical Sites in The Province of Cavite” Undergraduate research study of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Cavite State University, Indang Cavite, April 2016.Adviser Mr. Gil D. Ramos MaHisto. The study entitled “Assessment of Policy Implementation of Selected Local Government Units on Promotion, Conservation and Protection of Historical Sites in The Province of Cavite” was conducted at Cavite State University, College of Arts and Sciences at the same time in selected municipalities in Cavite where the researcher gathered data from June 2015 to March 2016. This study was made to seek and determine: the policies of local government units that aimed to promote, conserve, and protect historical sites; the issues/problems that the LGUs are facing; to seek know the historical sites that are under the scope these policies; and lastly, the plans of the LGUs for these Heritage Sites. In line with the research, the researcher coordinated with the officers of different local tourism offices to see how they implement these policies and their plans to improve it, in order to get the data needed, the researcher conducted one-on-one interview using audio recorder and requested to have copies of current policies and/or plans of the respective local government unit. The results describe the issues that the LGUs are facing that hinders them to fully protect, conserve and promote these sites. Respondents pointed out that the main problem is the lack of funding from the national government and that they only have limited right to handle these sites. The study was made to determine the status of historical conservation in the Philippines specially, in the historic province of Cavite.
