The project was conducted at Barangay Bambang, Calaca, Batangas on December 12, 2018 to March, 29, 2019. The student aimed to gain knowledge in hog fattening business and gain profit at same time. The project reared four piglets with an average initial weight of 13 kg. They were fed with a total of 735 kg of feeds for whole production period with an average daily gain 693.40 g and feed conversion efficiency of 2.5. The average final weight of the hogs was 346 kg with an average gain in weight of 73.5 kg.
The four hogs was sold at live weight basis at P 120 per kilogram. The total cost of production which includes hogs, feeds, miscellaneous, and other expenses was P 35,674.58. The gross sales was P 39, 890. A net income of P4, 125.42 was realized with a return of investment of 11.82 percent.
