Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Operations Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Prof Lina C. Abogadie. The materials flow and production system of Twin Brothers Import-Export Inc. Cavite Coffee located at Lalaan I, Silang, Cavite, was evaluated in this case study. Specifically, this study described the products and services of Twin Bros., determined the sources of raw materials for coffee milling, described the firm's milling process, assessed the materials flow and production system using SWOT analysis, identified the different problems encountered by the firm and recommended solutions to the identified problems. Primary data were gathered through personal interviews with the owner and employees of Twin Brothers Import-Export Inc. Cavite Coffee. Personal observation of the firm's activities and hands-on involvement in the firm's operations were done. Descriptive method was used to analyze the materials flow and production system of Twin Brothers Import-Export Inc. Cavite Coffee. Figures, tables, and diagrams were used to present the firm's processes, components, and strategies. Twin Brothers Import-Export Inc. Cavite Coffee is in Silang's coffee industry for more than two decades. Mrs. Helen A. Toledo manages the operation of the family-owned coffee milling enterprise. The firm's major operation is milling and supplies milled Robusta beans to Nestle Philippines. Coffee production of Twin Brothers Import-Export Inc. Cavite Coffee starts with the sourcing of raw materials and ends in the distribution process to its sole consumer which is Nestle Philippines. Twin Bros. sourced its own coffee berries from its own farm located at Barangay Balite H, Silang, Cavite which is approximately three hectares and has an estimated 2,000 coffee trees. Additional coffee berries are sourced from neighboring coffee farmers. Coffee berries undergo sun drying, milling, drying, blowing, moisture testing, and weighing before coffee products are produced. Irregular milling operation, lack of proper ventilation and lighting, need for proper documentation of inventories, records of its suppliers, average daily production volume, and low volume of coffee beans harvested were the common problems of Twin Brothers Import-Export Inc. Cavite Coffee.
