Abstract: MASICAP, DIMPLE R. and TOMINES, REYNABELL P. Development of Inventory Management System of Apparatus and Equipment of Biological Science Department. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. March 2014. Adviser: Ms. Gladys G. Perey. The study, Development of Inventory Management System of Apparatus and Equipment of Biological Science Department, was conducted to make an adjustment of the methods of traditional process inventory of Apparatus and Equipment of the laboratory personnel. This study also conducted to make the transaction faster and more efficient. The researchers utilized the System Development Methodology as_ their methodology for the study including different phases namely Analysis/Planning, Breakdown Priority project, Design Module, Code/Test, Integration of Sub Procedure, Integration of Existing System and Test/Implementation. The planning development of the system was prepared by the researchers by gathering relevant information to be used for the completion of the system. The following are the applications used to develop the system: XAMPP ver. 1.7.7.3 and MySQL for the database, Adobe photoshop CS4 for editing and creating background images and Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 for the scripting language. The software was evaluated by the selected students taking up subjects with laboratory class in biological sciences department and selected faculty who is in-charge for the monitoring of apparatus and equipment during laboratory classes. Functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability were the criteria used in evaluating the system. . The system was evaluated with a grand mean of 4.09 and was given a ’Very Good” interpretation that signifies that the system attained its desired functionality.
