Abstract: This farm practice "Production Management of Bush Sitao Intercropped with Bell Pepper" wan conducted at the Don Severino Agriculturel ColleRe experiment al field, Indang, Cavite from October 1990 to February 1991. It aimed to acquire skills in the cultural management of bush sitao and intercropped with bell pepper; to determine the yield of intercropped bush sitao and bell pepper and assess the cost and return analysis of bush sitao when intercropped with bell pepper. A 1,500 square meter field was plowed and harrowed twice with an interval of two weeks to insure levelling of the land. Seeds of bush sitao were planted uniformly at a distance of 60 centimeters between rows and 40 centimeters between hills. Two to three seeds were planted to a depth of twice the diameter of the seeds. Germination took place seven days after planting. Bell pepper seeds first soaked in water for 12 hours to hasten germination. Seeds were sown five centimeters in a seed box containing equal parts of sand, compost, and garden soil. Seedlings were transplanted in between rows of bush sitao when these bell pepper seedlings had grown to almost eight to ten centimeters high. Bush sitao pods were harvested 50 days after planting and bell pepper 100 days from the time of planting. One hundred eighty five kilos of bush sitao pods were harvested and were sold at Y8.00 per kilo. One hundred sixty five kilos of bell pepper were sold at Y20.00 per kilo. The total gross income from both crops was Y4, 7 80.00 and after deducting-the total expenses of Y2,810.00, a net income of Y1,970.00 was realized. The return on investment of 70 percent was realized.
