PENOL, JIMMY Y RUIZ, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 1999. “DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND EVALUATION OF MANUALLY OPERATED HONEY EXTRACTOR" Adviser: Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar.
A manually operated honey extractor was designed, constructed, and evaluated at the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, College of Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite in January 1999. The machine is composed of five major components. These are the frame guide and fitting assembly, stainless cylinder, strainer, honey collector and the stand assembly. This manually operated honey extractor has a honey extraction efficiency of 95.19 percent, amount of honey extracted of 11.18 liter, overall total time of extraction of 15.98 minutes, it also has an overall capacity of 0.67 liter per minute. The result showed that the quality of the honey extracted by the manually operated honey extractor was comparable to that produced in the CvSU Apiary. The cost of constructing the honey extractor was P 10,747.00.
