This was undertaken to: determine the best proportion of lard and soda ash that will produce the best result and to assess the effectiveness of the soap from soda ash and lard in removing common stains such as catsup. chocolate and soy sauce. Data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The statistical tools used were The F-test and the Duncan Multiple Range Test (FA IRT). Results in odor showed that T, and T3 were not significantly different from each other. For hardness. T1, 12 and T3 were all significantly different from each other. For the general acceptability of the soap, -FL. T, and T3 were all significantly different from each other. For the general acceptability of the soap as stain remover to catsup, chocolate and soy sauce, all the treatments were not significantly different from each other.
