Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2002. Adviser: Ms Emyrose Pugay. The study was conducted at the Matsushita Electric Philippines Corp. (MEPCO) at the Laguna Technopark, Sta. Rosa, Laguna from October 15, 2001 to January 18, 2002 to enable the student to a chance to develop and enhance her abilities and skills by exposing herself to an effective and successful business establishment. Specifically, it aimed to: gather information on the Supplies Section of the MEPCO Home Appliance Department, identify the existing problems of firm and recommend feasible solutions to these problems. MEPCO is the maker and distributor of National and Panasonic brands of electric and electronic appliances in the country. Primary information were obtained through observation, actual participation in firm activities, and informal interviews with the managers and staff of MEPCO. Secondary data were gathered from the National Panabalita magazines, Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and company manuals. MEPCO markets their products in both the international and local markets. Sixty percent (60%) of the company's products are distributed in the international market while the remaining fourthy percent (40%) is sold locally. It continuously expand its sales, service and distribution networks to make National and Panasonic products conveniently available to consumers. The company encountered delayed supply of raw materials from its suppliers. The management should therefore find ways to look for other supplier companies which have available raw materials at all times to supply the needs of the company. The study focused on the activities and experiences of the author in the firm. She was assigned at the Supplies Section of the MEPCO Home Appliance Department. Activities performed at the Home Appliance Department involved clerical works such as photocopying and processing of different documents, typing, filing, encoding of received materials, recording of daily transactions, sending memoranda, and letters, posting announcements and answering telephone calls.
