Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2004. Adviser: Mr. Marlon R. Perena. The software entitled; Online Computer Aided Instruction on Strength of Materials Using Multimedia featured topics on the subject through the use of multimedia. It is an educational supplementary tool to ordinary classroom instruction in the form of software that enhances the learning process. The study gives benefit to students particularly those taking up Strength of Materials, instructors and those who are interested in the subject. It is composed of six chapters including Simple Stress; Simple Strain; Torsion; Shear and Moment in Beams; Stresses in Beams; and Beam Deflections. It also included quizzes after every chapter. which evaluates the user's comprehension on the lessons and the glossary which serves as dictionary for some unfamiliar words. Information were gathered from different sources like books and Internet. The Method used for the software was the paper prototyping paradigm. The programming languages used were PHP with JavaScript and VBScript. The software evaluation was done to know if agreements were met. Refinement was also done to change the part of the client wanted to Slovin formula was used to determine the total number of respondents needed for evaluation. Through evaluation of the software the statistical analysis was performed to know the effectiveness of the software.
