Abstract: BENJERA, MARRIETA P. and TEPORA, RICKY R. Online Computer Aided Instruction on Microprocessors and Microcomputers for bachelor’s in industrial technology students. Undergraduate Special Problem. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2004. Adviser: Mr. Simeon E. Daez. The study is an online tutorial with consistent content presentation about microprocessors and microcomputers. It presents and discusses the topics about the development of microprocessors, the SAP-I Architecture, the Sap-2 Architecture, the Sap-3 Architecture, and the CPU. It was designed for the benefits of students at Cavite State University (CvSU) taking up the course Bachelor in Industrial Technology (BIO. It aimed to develop an on-line computer-aided instruction on Microprocessors and Microcomputers for the bachelor’s in industrial technology students that would provide appropriate and consistent content presentation to the learner; would serve as a supplement in presenting the lessons to the students; and would help the students learn and understand the subject more. The analysis and design was conducted in Bancod, Indang, Cavite while the testing and the evaluation of the software was conducted at the Information Technology Department of the College of Engineering and Information Technology of the Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. During the development and designing of the software, the proponents used both the Hierarchical Input Process Output (HIPO) and Input Process Output (IPO) chart. The paradigm used was the Fourth Generation Technique (4GT). For the coding and design, Hypertext Preprocessor (PEP) was the scripting language used, MySQL for the database, and Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 6.0 for the design of the web pages. The study was found to be an effective way of presenting Microprocessors and Microcomputers to the students after passing several tests including the evaluation and software testing. It can be an effective tool and source of information for students who want to enjoy and understand Microprocessors and Microcomputers more. It can also be a great help for the instructors in presenting the lessons to the students. The proponents believed that developing a software for Microprocessors and Microcomputers in general use not specifically for BIT students only; adding more tests to evaluate the beneficiaries, more pictures, animations, sounds, and features; and uploading the software for implementation would further enhance the study
