An Entrepreneurial Development Project (EDP) was conducted in Sinaliw Malaki, Alfonso Cavite primarily to provide the students a chance to apply their knowledge in business management to actual operations by putting their own project. The project was mainly concerned with the production of fresh poultry products. The different practices followed by the entrepreneurs were preparation of the poultry house, purchase of chicks and feeds, brooding and growing of chicks, waste management, harvesting and marketing. During the four-month period of operation, 600 chicks were raised for two cropping periods. The major products sold by the enterprise were live and dressed chicken. Live chicken were sold at P75.00 per kilo while dressed chicken were sold at P100 to P110 per kilo. The market of the enterprise included walk-in-buyers, retailers, restaurants and others. An initial capital of P 30,000.00, which was equally shared by the entrepreneurs was used in producing and marketing broilers from November 2003 to February 2004. Over all, the project was determined to be a reliable business operation.
