Abstract: HEIDI P. MARTAL and SONIA T. MIRABETE "A Logistic Regression Analysis on Media Utilization among CvSU-CAS Faculty". Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2004. Adviser: Miss Analyn Mojica. The study was conducted to assess media utilization among the CvSU-CAS faculty members, and to determine which among the factors (teaching profile and problems encountered on the use of instructional media) are significantly related with dependent variable frequency of use of instructional materials) through logistic regression analysis. It was found out that chart/graph/illustration are the commonly used instructional materials by most of the faculty members. Newspaper/journal/magazine, models and OHP (overhead projector) were seldom used while audio player and records, video player and records and specimen has never been used by most of the respondents. Insufficient budget for instructional materials and availability of instructional materials were found to be the primary problems encountered by most of the faculty members. Ordinal logistic regression was used to determine which among the predictors has a significant relationship to media utilization frequency. Result showed that availability of instructional materials, department, and training on the use of selected instructional materials were the prevailing factors that are significantly related to media utilization frequency. Among others were the insufficient budget for instructional materials, administration's interest on the use of instructional media and academic rank.
