Abstract: BAYBAY MA. HEIDI P., Personality Traits and Coping Styles of Students in Fransisco Perez Tolentino Memorial High School at Tagaytay City. Descriptive Andy, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 7. Adviser: Imelda R. Filart The study sought to determine the personality traits and coping styles of selected Students of Francisco Perez Memorial High School and its relation to the conventional leaching method of their teacher. The selected students were given Personality Inventory Test a researcher made lest by Dr. Tom Buchanan while their coping style were given also a researcher made test by the author of this study. Specifically, it aimed to answer the following question (1) what is the demographic profile of the respondents according to age and gender; (2) what are the personality traits of the respondents; (3) what are the coping styles of the respondents; (4) is there a significant relationship between personality traits and coping styles of the students of Francisco Perez Memorial High School. This study is composed of 90 respondents through the used of stratified random sampling. Pearson r was used for the computation of relationship of personality traits and coping styles. Based on the result of the study it was found out in the demographic profile of respondents in terms of age, that most of the respondents are fourteen (14) — fifteen (15) years of age and dominated by females. It was also found out that personality traits and coping style has no significant relationship and revealed that personality traits has nothing to do with the coping styles of the students. It is due to the fact that whatever personality trait that the student must have they can easily copes with some classroom situations because it is needed in their peer group to adopt some changing environment. . It is due to the fact that the students are learning because even though they don't have any references they can cope up because of a certain activity that is given by the teachers. This study shows that the students learn also within the indoor through the activities like grouping, writing, and role playing. This study of the relationship of personality traits and coping styles of students would not only help the researcher but also the teachers, students and future researchers on the basis of the data and information resulting from this study.
