The design and analysis of the ten-storey multi-purpose building for Cavite State University, Indang Cavite was conducted at the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang Cavite from June 2006 up to March 2007. It includes architectural and structural plans, lighting and power layout, plumbing layout, detailed cost estimate and a scaled model of the building. The general objective of the study was to enhance and apply the author's knowledge in designing, planning and estimating the entire project which can serve as reference for future implementation of the design project.
Structural engineering software known as the Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD) was used to analyze the beams, columns and footing, structural framing system of the structure. National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) and Ultimate Strength Design (USD) were also used as references in the analysis of structural member.
