Panaligan, RN The study was conducted to determine the health habits of nursing students in terms of physical activity, nutrition and diet, sleep, and substance use and the academic performance of nursing students for the first semester, AY 2008-2009. The study utilized descriptive research design to answer the research questions, frequency count, mean, range, and percentage were used to summarized and describe the first, second, and third part of the questionnaire while Pearson's r test was used to answer the fourth part of the questionnaire. This was employed to determine the relationship between: physical activity of the respondents and their academic performance, nutrition and dietary habits of the respondents and their academic performance, sleeping habits of the respondents and their academic performance, and substance use of the respondents and their academic performance. The study has 82 third year BS Nursing students of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite as respondents with age group ranging from 19 to 20 years old and with the academic load of 18 to 28 units. Based on the result, there is no significant relationship between the health habits of nursing students in terms of physical activity, nutrition and diet, sleep and substance use and their academic performance.
