A case study was conducted in KAMAHARI Agri-Based Multipurpose Cooperative Located at Camp Avejar, Barangay Lumbangan, Nasugbu, Batangas from July 9 to September 10, 2013. The study aimed to determine and evaluate the credit management practices of KAMAHARI Agri-Based Multipurpose Cooperative. Specifically, it aimed to determine and analyze the credit cycle and the collection cycle as well as the credit policies and procedures; identify the strategies used on checking credit worthiness of borrowers and strategies on collecting payments; evaluate the credit management practices of the cooperative through financial ratios; evaluate the business environment prevailing at the particular time of the study; and identify the different problems encountered by the cooperative as well as their future plans. KAMAHARI-ABMPC offers different services such as, savings deposit, economic, damayan, and credit or loan services. Under credit or loan services, the cooperative offers different types of credits, such as: Sugarcane Production Loan, Regular Loan, Pension Loan, SOLCENTER Loan and Microfinance Group Loan. Each loan has different credit policies and procedures. Although KAMAHARI-ABMPC offers different types of loan, its credit cycle can be generalized as well as its collection cycle. Its credit cycle starts with orientation or seminar followed by submission loan application, credit investigation and background investigation, credit evaluation and last is approval and release of loan while its collection cycle starts upon release of loan followed by the project inspection followed by billing, collection, ageing of receivables, and last collection of past due accounts. The KAMAHARI-ABMPC showed receivable turnover of 0.35 times in 2012 and 0.31 times in 2011 while its average collection period required 1,029.57 days in 2012 and 1,161.29 days in 2011. Because of these, the cooperative was at stake with 45.79 percent past due rate for the past two years and is headed for continuous collection of past due accounts.
