Abstract: JANAIRO, CHARMAINE P., JANDA, CHRISTINE LOUIS D., and LACDAO, ANGELICA S. Demographic Characteristics and Temperament Personality among Intermediate Pupils in Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2013. Adviser: Evelyn M. del Mundo, RN, MAN. The study entitled "Demographic Characteristics and Temperament Personality among Intermediate Pupils in Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Dasmarinas City Cavite" aimed to (1) determine the demographic characteristics of the participants based on (a) age (b) sex (c) grade level; (2) identify the temperament personality of the participants based on (a) easy personality (b) slow to warm up personality (c) difficult personality; (3) determine the significant relationship between the demographic characteristics of the participants and their temperament personality. The participants of the study were composed of 450 students that were chosen through systematic sampling, ages 9 to 12 years old from grade four to grade six from Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. The data was gathered through survey that was conducted last March 18, 2013. Demographic characteristics and temperament personality were described using frequency, percentage, and measure value and Chi-square was used as statistical treatment for hypothesis testing. Majority of the participants were 12 years of age, female and most of them came from Grade VI. Among the three types of temperament personality, it shows that slow to warm up child ranked as number one. Majority of the respondents did not fit on any of the three categories. It only shows that, the most number of the intermediate female participants came from grade six with 12 years of age in Sta. Cruz Elementary School did not fit on any of the three categories of temperament personality. Based on the result, it shows that the most of the participants were found to be slowly adaptable, with moderate persistence, with moderate activity level, were moderate distractible, with positive mood, with slightly irregular predictability/rhythmicity, with mild intensity, with moderate threshold, and initial withdrawal in approach. Furthermore, there is no significant relationship between demographic profile of the respondents (age, sex, grade level) and temperament personality.
