Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Josephine P. Manapsal, M.P. The main focus of the study was to determine the level of parenting style applied by the parents-in-charge of high school students with OFW parent in terms of: authoritarian, authoritative, permissive; and uninvolved. Also to determine the level of achievement goal of the high school students with OFW parents in terms of: mastery goal, performance-approach goal, and performance-avoidance goal. Lastly, to determine the relationship of parenting styles of the parents-in-charge and achievement goals of the high school students. Participants were 243 high school students with OFW parent in the different schools in District VII of Cavite. Descriptive correlational design and purposive sampling was employed in this study. The study made used of two sets of tests: Modified Parental Authority Questionnaire and Achievement Goal Questionnaire. Frequency, mean, standard deviation, chi-square and Pearson r were the statistical treatments that were utilized. Participants were high in authoritative parenting style and also, participants got very high in mastery goal. The researchers found out that the parenting style has a significant relationship with the achievement goal of the participants.
