This study was conducted to assess the emergency room among the affiliated hospitals of Cavite State University-College of Nursing particularly in the hospitals of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires City, Cavite, San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital in Naic, Cavite, Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City, Batangas, M.V. Santiago Medical Center in Trece Martires City, Cavite and Estrella Hospital in Silang, Cavite. This study specifically aimed to: determine the profile of the hospital in terms of category, number of year in operation, bed capacity, and number of emergency room personnel; determine the physical composition of emergency room department in terms of supply, equipment, and area; identify the services provided in the emergency room; determine the level of efficiency perceived by the emergency room personnel and the patient/patient’s relative in terms of knowledge, skill, attitude; and determine if there is any significant difference between the level of perception of emergency room personnel and patient/patient’s relative in terms of level of efficiency. The study utilized the descriptive survey research approach. The data gathered were tallied, interpreted and statistically analyzed. The mean, frequency, and the percentage were used to present hospital profile and frequency distribution of the respondents A questionnaire was adopted, developed and utilized in this study which served as the data gathering tool. The first part consists of hospital profile, second part consists of physical composition of the emergency room, third part consists of services offered in the emergency room and the last part consists of questions regarding the level of efficiency of staff/personnel in the emergency room in terms of knowledge, skill, and attitude.
