This study sought to determine the effects of parental employment on the level of psychological well-being and achievement goal of high school students at Bacoor National High School — Molino I Main — Bacoor City, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to: determine the level of psychological well-being of the high school students according to parental employment in terms of: a.) autonomy b.) environmental mastery c.) personal growth d.) positive relations with others e.) purpose in life and f.) self-acceptance; determine the level of achievement goal of high school students according to parental employment in terms of a.) mastery goal b.) performance goal and c.) performance avoidance; determine the difference between the levels of psychological well-being of high school students in terms of parental employment; and determine the levels of achievement goal of high school students in terms of parental employment. The study made use of descriptive causal-comparative research design. The proportional stratified random sampling was used to select the participants. The study involved the participation of 400 high school students who were officially enrolled at Bacoor National High School — Molino I Main — Bacoor City, Cavite for the School Year 2014-2015. Personal data sheet, Ryfrs Psychological Well-being Scale — Filipino Revision, and Achievement Goal Questionnaire were used to obtain the required information from the participants. Mean, frequencies, percentages, standard deviation, and Kruskal-Wallis One-way ANOVA was used to analyze the data and to answer the problem in the study. The study found out that these high school students had a high level of psychological well-being in terms of autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. Similarly, these high school students had a high level of achievement goal in terms of mastery goal and performance avoidance. However, the study found out that these high school students had a low level of achievement goal in terms of performance goal. No significant difference in the psychological well-being of high school students in terms of parental employment was found. Furthermore, the study also discovered that the level of achievement goal in terms of mastery goal, performance goal, and performance avoidance did not differ significantly with the parents' employment status. The results indicate that parental employment has no effect on the psychological well-being and achievement goal of these high school students.
