Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Prof. Maria Corazon A. Buena. An enterprise development project which lasted for three months, was conducted from November 18, 2013 to February 13, 2014. Generally, the project aimed to describe the strategies in marketing rice cakes and Japanese cakes, to determine the profitability of the project and identify the problems encountered in managing the business and suggest feasible solutions to problems identified. JaPinoy Cakes offered different varieties of Japanese and Rice cakes (cheese, chocolate, strawberry and peanut) that meets the taste and preference of their target market based on cost-plus pricing. It also offered products with additional flavors by just adding P2.00. As part of promotion, JaPinoy Cakes allowed customers to personalize the toppings of the products. Moreover, improvement of the stall and by using banana leaves as packaging, was done to attract the market and to make the customers recognize their products. After the three months of operation, Japinoy Cakes had generated a total sale of P96, 434.00. In operating the business, problems experienced include the following: unavailability of preferred flavors of the customers, uncontrollable factors such as location and scheduled activities in the university like field days that caused lower sales for that particular day. However, solutions were identified. Through this entrepreneurial project, the student's managerial capabilities, decision making skills and communication skills in handling business were developed.
