The study entitled, “Development of Management Information System for Payapa National High School, Payapa Ilaya, Lemery, Batangas” was conducted to address the concerns of the institution regarding data keeping and data organizing. Moreover, the system was built to solve the existing problems that the school encountered using traditional system. The system has 5 level of access: administrator, principal, head teacher, teacher, and guidance counselor. Furthermore, the system has the capability to automate student enrolment, sectioning, uploading of grades, monthly attendance, and textbook inventory.
The method used during the development of the study was iterative development methodology. It has 5 phases: planning/requirement phase, analysis and system design, implementation phase, testing phase, and evaluation. The process in this method was then repeated producing a new version of the system until it was completed.
The software specification used during the development of the study was Netbeans IDE 8.0, a Java platform as a development language and My Structured Query Language (MySQL) as system database.
The system consisted 6 modules: account management module, admission module, grading module, textbook inventory module, school personnel basic profile module, and report generation module. The developed system was evaluated by the faculty and staff of Payapa National High School. The results satisfied all the criteria of the evaluation and met the identified objectives of the study.
