Abstract: BALILI, ANNA MAY G. and BOBADILLA, JOSEPH BRYAN B. Development of Health Informatics System Diet Plan For Diabetic People Using Android Application. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 20015. Adviser: Ms. Gladys G. Perey. The study was conducted to develop health informatics system diet plan for diabetic people using Android application that will help diabetic people to maintain their right diet, identify the status of their glucose blood sugar level, and improve and maximize the use of Android phone in other application like health issues. Android application for the diabetic people provides information about diabetes. The application has three (3) modules: information module, search module, and content management module. These modules might support the user to decipher the problem. The difficulties encountered by the patient regarding traditional one-on-one consultation for the right diet and monitoring glucose blood sugar with the patients and nutritionists were identified through preliminary interviews. This was presented using the fishbone diagram (see Appendix 6) the identified problem was that users were not maximizing the use of their Android phone in other application like health issues. In addition, they were aware of diabetes illness and improper monitoring of blood sugar. The flow of the development of the study was based on the theoretical framework of the study (see Figure 1). The software methodology used in the development of the system was the prototyping model. This methodology is composed of different phases. Android application was developed through the use of different programming applications such as Java programming language, Eclipse as Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Android Software Development Kit (SDK) as development tool, Structured Query Language (SQL) Lite for the database, Adobe Photoshop CS4 for the design, and mobile phone with an Android operating system for the implementation. The system was evaluated by selected participants using indicators wherein 5 was rated as excellent, 4 as very good, 3 as good, 2 as fair, and | as poor. The system successfully passed the criteria and accomplished the expected output.
