Abstract: ANGCANAN, JESSA RANIA B. AND PAPA, JAYROLD T., Correlates of Job Performance Among Employees of General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management Major in Human Resource Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015_ Adviser: Dr_ Antonio G. Papa. The study was conducted from October 2014 to March 2015 in General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital at Trece Martires, City Cavite. The study generally aimed to determine the correlates of job performance of the employees of General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEAMH). Specifically it aimed to: 1) determine the profile of the employees of General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital; 2) identify the direction of their motivation, attitude toward work, peers and supervisor; 3) determine the level of their job satisfaction; 4) find out the relationship between the demographic and socio-economic characteristics and their job performance; and 5) find out relationship between the psychological characteristics and their job performance. The participants of the study were the employees of GEAMH from administrative staff, medical/ancillary staff, nursing staff and they were selected through random sampling procedure. A total of 184 employees participated in the study. Data were obtained using a survey questionnaire. Descriptive statistics such as frequency count, mean, range and inferential statistics namely Spearman rank correlational coefficient and Chi-square test as well as Point biserial correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data. Based on the demographic profile of the participants, their age ranged from 19-60 years with mean of 35 years. Most of the participants in the study were female, married, BS degree holders, regular employees and have 1-2 dependents. The overall attitude of the participants as regards their work, co-workers and immediate supervisor was favorable. The participants were motivated towards their works. The overall level of job satisfaction of the participants was satisfied. A little more than one-half of the participants were rated very satisfactory level of job performance. There is no significant correlation between demographic and socio-economic in terms of age, number of dependents and marital status of the participants to the level of job performance; however, there is a significant correlation between sex, educational attainment and employment status and their level of job performance. Hence, there is a partial relationship between the demographic and socio economic characteristics of the respondents and their level of job performance. There was a highly significant correlation between psychological characteristics in terms of attitude toward work, co-workers or peers, immediate supervisor; motivation to work and rewards; and job satisfaction and their level of job performance. The null hypothesis was totally rejected since psychological characteristics in terms of attitudes toward work, co-workers, immediate supervisor and motivation to work as well as their level of job satisfaction and their level of job performance had a highly significant relationship at 1 percent or 5 percent levels of probability.
