Abstract: AGUILA, JOHN PAULO B. and TILAR, SAUD T. Library Management System for Dasmarinas National High School. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Aiza E. Bihis. This study is about understanding the difficulties and solutions in a library that uses manual methods on its daily transactions. The study was conducted in Cavite State University — Indang Campus under the College of Engineering and Information Technology from March 2014 to January 2016. The study identified and analyzed that they encountered difficulty in searching of reference material, monitoring of library transactions and generating of reports in the library especially the library of Dasmarinas National High School- Main using questionnaires and fishbone diagrams. Using Iterative and Incremental Development as guide in creating a system, this study would be a great help to the students, teachers, librarians, the principal, and future researchers because of the computerized process in recording the transactions in the library. Searching of reference material is easier by encoding keywords of the target reference material. The features of the system were stated using theoretical framework and use case diagram to show capabilities of each user. Using Visual Basic 6.0 with Microsoft Access as database and Photoshop CS4 in designing the graphic user interface of the system. The system was tested using unit testing, integration testing, and system testing. The respondents evaluated the system using the evaluation form based on ISO 9126. The output of the study will help the users in searching the reference in the library faster and with efficiency. The principal can easily monitor the transactions in the library without spending too much time in reading every page of records. The librarian can also record those transactions in the library and print the necessary reports needed by the organizations.
