ENDRINAL, JAYWORD B. Development of E-Learning System as an Educational Tool in English 1 (Study and Thinking Skills) for Cavite State University — Don Severino de las Alas Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Mr. Simeon E. Daez.
The study was conducted to develop an E-learning system in English I (Study and Thinking Skills) that may serve as an alternative support for instructors in solving problems, in boosting the students' comprehension about the subject, in assessing the slow process of generating students' scores and status of the subject, and in handling delayed delivery of the learning content of the subject to the students.
The methodology used in the software development was feature driven development, which is composed of develop an overall model, build a feature list, plan by feature, design by feature, and building feature.
The system was developed through the use of different applications such as MY SQL for the database management system, Pi-IP as the scripting programming language, Adobe Photoshop for the design and interface of the system, Notepad++ for coding, and Google Chrome as the default browser.
The system was evaluated using indicators from 1-5 where 5 means excellent, 4 as very good, 3 as good, 2 as fair, and I as poor. The system successfully passed the criteria and met the expected output.
