Abstract: AÑONUEVO, LOVELY TINA R., DESACADA, JANELLA N., and OLARTE, ARLENE M. Credit Consciousness of Employees of Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Prof Nelia E. Feranil. The study was conducted to determine the credit consciousness of the employees of Cavite State University. It aimed to determine the socio-demo-economic characteristics of the employees of Cavite State University; determine the reasons of the employees of Cavite State University for availing credit; determine the credit practices of the employees of Cavite State University; determine the level of credit consciousness of the employees of Cavite State University; and determine the relationship between the socio-demo-economic characteristics of the employees of Cavite State University and the level of their credit consciousness. The study was conducted in Cavite State University main and satellite campuses from November 2015 to March 2016. Three hundred twenty eight employees were identified and served as the participants of the study. Descriptive statistics such as frequency count, percentage and mean were used in the analysis of data. Kruskal-Wallis test was also used to determine the relationship between some variables. Results of the study showed that most of the participants belonged to the age group of 20 to 30, female, single, have four to six family members, college graduate and had contractual status. It also showed that most of the employees have a gross monthly income of P8,000 to P18,000, have no outstanding loan, and usually avail loans on Government Financial Institutions. The participants of the study prioritized health and wellness in availing loan, terms of payment in choosing loans, pay loans based on due date and manage default to maintain a good credit standing. The participants were moderately conscious in terms of the reason on availing loan (2.64), choosing loans (2.88), paying behavior (3.20), and managing default (3.29). All of the socio-demo-economic characteristics except the credit status have no significant relationship to the level of credit consciousness of the employees of Cavite State University. The findings revealed that the higher the number of loans the participants availed, the higher the level of their credit consciousness.
