This study was carried out to determine the effectiveness and contributions of on- the-job training (OJT) to the work readiness of College of Economics, Management and Development Studies (CEMDS) students of Cavite State University. Specifically, it aimed to identify the socio-demographic profile, determine the level of skill before and after finishing OJT; the level of effectiveness of OJT in improving the skill; the type of skill which OJT contributed most effectively; the level of work readiness of CEMDS students; and the significant difference in the effectiveness of OJT and in the work readiness of CEMDS when grouped according to socio-demographic profile. A survey questionnaire was utilized to gather the data from 202 students of CEMDS. Frequency counts, mean, percentage, standard deviation, Fried Man Test, Kruskal Wallis Test and Mann Whitney Test were used in the analysis of data. It was found that the OJT is effective in improving the work readiness of students. The organizational skill is where the OJT contributed most effectively. A significant difference in the effectiveness of OJT to work readiness of CEMDS students when grouped according to demographic profile was also found while the work readiness of CEMDS students was significantly different when grouped according to demographic profile.
