Abstract: CAISA, SHARON and ROPEREZ, ALYANA KRISTIE D. Knowledge and Perception of Faculty Members and Students of Cavite State University on ASEAN Integration. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in International Studies major in Southeast Asia Studies. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Dr. Marietta C. Mojica. This study was conducted to: (1) identify the demographic characteristics of selected faculty and students of CvSU; (2) determine their level of knowledge in terms of basic information on ASEAN, ASEAN Political-Security Community, ASEAN Economic Community, and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community; (3) determine the perception of the participants towards ASEAN Integration in terms of strengths, benefits and advantages; (4) determine the relationship between the demographic characteristics and level of knowledge towards ASEAN Integration; and (5) determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the perceived benefits towards of ASEAN Integration. Descriptive correlation design was used to present the data. This study focused on the faculty members and students from four colleges of Cavite State University main campus, namely: CAFENR, CAS, CEIT and CEMDS. A total of 80 faculty members and 200 students served as the participants in this study. The data were analyzed using the frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, weighted arithmetic mean, Point Biserial Correlation, Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient and chi-square. The mean age of the faculty members was 27 years and most were female, college graduate, worked on part-time/job order with an academic rank of Instructor I, mostly coming from the College of Arts and Sciences. They used 7-8 types of media, mostly Internet sites. The mean age of the student participants was 18 years. Most of them were female, first year college enrolled in College of Engineering and Information Technology and used 5-6 types of media, mostly television. Faculty members were "knowledgeable" in basic information on ASEAN but rated as "quite knowledgeable" on the three pillars of ASEAN. The students were "knowledgeable" in the four areas related to ASEAN. There was a significant difference on the level of knowledge between the faculty and students on the three pillars of ASEAN Integration. The perception towards the ASEAN integration's benefits, advantages and strengths was measured using Likert statements. In general, both the faculty members and students "agreed" on the statements related to ASEAN integration. Two variables, "colleges were the faculty members were connected" and "the number of the student participants" were found to be significantly related to their level of knowledge on ASEAN Integration. The level of knowledge had a significant relationship with the perceived benefits, advantages and strengths of the participants on the three pillars of ASEAN.
