The study conducted to describe the demographic characteristics of the faculty members of CvSU; describe the social media usage of the CvSU faculty members in terms of platform, time spent, purpose and content; identify what type of social media user are the faculty members of CvSU; determine the knowledge level of the selected CvSU faculty members on the different global issues; determine the relationship between the type of social media user and knowledge level of the faculty members on global issues in five thematic areas; and to determine the relationship between the participants' overall social media user type and their overall level of knowledge on global issues. Each platform was used for different purposes and contents. Participants were moderate users in terms of purpose and content; and light users for the platform used and time spent. The participants' social media user type was significantly related to their knowledge level on poverty.
