Abstract: ALANO, APRIL JOHN F. and TANAEL, KEVIN ROMWELL F. PH-RASE Book: A Mobile Translator from English to Tagalog, Cebuano, Bicolano, and Ilocano Dialects. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang Campus, Indang Cavite. May 2017. Adviser Ms. Lydia D. Perido. The study was conducted from February 2016 to April 2017 in Cavite State University-Indang, Cavite. The mobile application has a translator of words from English to different Filipino dialects such as Tagalog, Bicolano, Ilocano, and Cebuano. Users will enjoy- the visual design and the content of the mobile dictionary. The mobile application can be beneficial to people who want to learn the different Filipino dialects and those who are having a hard time understanding the said dialects. This application contains categories such as greetings, weather, places, directions, colors, numbers, emergency, relatives, and others. It also contains a set of questions that serve as a quiz to be able to familiarize the users in the words they translated. It aims to help other people to understand the different dialects mentioned above; it encourages the user to learn the dialects that can be useful if they go travel around the Philippines. The users can use the mobile application for them to learn and improve their communication and language skills. The Prototyping Model (SDM) was used to develop the mobile application. The computer system that was used in the development of the mobile applications has the following specifications: laptop had 4GB of RAM, Intel® Core"' 2 i3-5005U CPU 2.00 GHz Processor, and a Windows 8 64-bit Operating System The software that was used in the development of the mobile applications are the following: Adobe PhotoshopCS6 for the graphic design of logo and background, Microsoft Word for the documentation purpose, Android Studio for development and designing of the application, and MySQLite for the database, storing data about the levels in the application. The developed application was evaluated using two different questionnaires which were adapted by ISO 9126: technical and non-technical questionnaires. 100 respondents answered the non-technical questionnaires including the 10 IT experts to measure the rating of the mobile application to its functionality (4.38), reliability (4.36), usability (4.39), user-friendliness (4.49), efficiency (4.36), maintainability (4.37) and portability (4.40).
