Abstract: ALCANTARA, C., ASIMAN A., AND AMANTE IL, Working Condition of Women Employees in Selected Companies in First Cavite Industrial Estate. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Dr. Elizabeth E. Polinga. The study was conducted to ascertain the working condition of women employees in First Cavite Industrial Estate with emphasis on the following: (1) to describe the soc o-de ographic characteristics of women employees; (2) to identify the benefits given by the company; (3) to describe the frequency of the benefits received by the women employees; (4) to identify the labor practices inside the company; (5) to describe the implementation of labor practices inside the company; (6) to identify the frequency of company in providing development opportunities for women in terms of promotion and training; (7) to determine the overall working condition of the participants based on the benefits, labor practices and development opportunities; and (8) to determine the problems encountered by the women in their orkplace. This study focused on the working condition of women employees in selected companies in FC1E. Companies were selected using convenient sampling. Working condition was measured using its indicators namely; benefits, labor practices and development opportunities. This study used primary and secondary data. The result of the study revealed that the majority of the participants were in the age of 18 to 26 years old and are working in electronics company (42%). Most of the women employees are contractual and in rank and file position. Majority of the participants were able to receive the mandatory benefits which are the SSS, Pagibig, Philhealth and 13 month pay along were sick leave, maternity leave, emergency leave and vacation leave. Companies were able to provide these benefits on time while the non-mandatory benefits were mostly given for the health and safety of women employees. Most of the women employees were working more than eight hours a day and are have one day rest within a week. Rules and regulation were consistently implemented inside the company for employees to orderly perform their jobs. In terms of development opportunities, the women employees were give chance for promotion and experience seminars and trainings. Problems encountered by the participants were errors in the computation of salary and long hours of work. The overall working condition of women employees based on the indicators which are benefits, labor practices and development opportunities was fair and desirable. Better governance for the working condition is the key to meet necessities of women employees inside their workplace. Providing seminars and trainings about the welfare of women in their job can help lessen the stress and accidents inside the workplace. This would also help women to develop their skills and abilities in their job. Offering more benefits would help women employees to boost their willingness to work.
