Abstract: ERSANDO, ARLON R. AND VILLA, MIRELLA B. BACKYARD HOG FATTENING IN BAILEN: AN ENTREPRENEURIAL PROJECT. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Dr. Cristina F. Olo This project was conducted at Brgy. Kabulusan General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen), Cavite from February 7 to April 30, 2017. The project aimed to develop skills in swine production in terms of actual operation and management of a backyard hog fattening project, develop and apply entrepreneurial skills and obtain profit from a small scale swine fattening project. The swine production project used eight piglets that was purchased at a backyard hog raiser in Barangay Dao-Batas Bailen, Cavite, with an average initial body weight of 18.8 kg. The feeds were bought at Farm Mart Silang, Cavite. They were fed three times a day on the first month and twice a day from the second month up to marketing period and undergone restricted feeding so that there will be no wasted feeds. After 83 days, the hogs weighed an average of 90.9 kg, with an average daily gain Of 870 g per day. The hogs consumed an average of 181.3 kg of feeds per head, giving an average feed conversion efficiency of 2.5 A total of P65, 126.50 was used for buying of stocks, feeds, medicine, and other inputs used in the operation. The total sale was P94,800.00. The business gave a net income which amounted to P29,673.50 giving a return of investment (ROI) of 45.56%
