Online resources: Abstract: CAPELLAN, LOVELLE L. and MAGBAYAO, ROBIE ANN. Design and Development of Rice Grain Vending Machine. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering. Cavite State University. Indang. Cavite. December 2018. Adviser: Engineer Michael T. Costa. The rice grain vending machine was designed and developed to benefit the users for buying of rice grain in a convenient way anytime of the day. The study specifically aimed to: (1) design and construct the control for unit of the system; (2) design and fabricate the rice grain dispensing unit; (3) utilize the multi-coin slot system and changing system; (4) develop a program that will control the system; (5) test and evaluate the system through pilot testing; and (6) conduct cost benefit analysis. The prototype was composed of control unit, coin slot unit, change dispensing unit, cup dispensing unit, rice dispensing unit and packaging unit. The prototype underwent several testing by parts and as a whole and was evaluated in terms of aesthetics, functionality or usability, convenience, marketability, user satisfaction, user preference and the general attributes of the prototype such as overall quality, price or quality ratio, purchase experience and usage experience. The project was found satisfactory since the prototype performed the task successfully. Based on the result of the cost benefit analysis, the total cost of the prototype is P 36,288.50 and the payback-period is 0.3562 years. The result revealed that the prototype could be viable to investors since the pay-back period is less than three years.
