Abstract: CLAVANO, IVAN EARL T. and INSULAR, PAUL MICHAEL R. Management Information System for College Of Economics, Management, and Development Studies. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Prof Gladys G. Perey. The study was conducted at Cavite State University Main Campus during academic year (AY) 2017-2018. It pursued to develop a Management Information System (MIS) for the College of Economics, Management, and Developmental Studies (CEMDS). Specifically, the study aimed to: 1. design a system that centralize and manage all the data in CEMDS; 2. make the retrieval and update of information quicker using the system; 3. develop the announcement module that manage the announcements and activities of the CEMDS; and 4. create information and generate reports instead of using printed materials. Several data gathering techniques have been conducted to collect data. The researchers used prototyping methodology for the development of the system. Different activities are performed for each phases of the methodology that are composed of planning, analysis, design, implementation, and final implementation. The system has six modules namely account module, announcement module, profile information module, file area repository module, thesis records module, and report management module precisely designed to address the recognized difficulties. The MIS for CEMDS was developed using Hypertext Pre-processor (PHP) for scripting language, Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) for designing the web interface, My Structured Query Language (MySQL) for the database and Apache for the server. The MIS for CEMDS was evaluated by 100 non-technical participants composed of students and professors of CEMDS, and 10 technical experts from the faculty of the Department of Information Technology. The evaluation criteria were based on the ISO 9126 standards.
