Farm Tourism in Indang and Silang: Promotion of Biodiversity and Contribution to Food Security. Undergraduate Research. Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The current trend to boost tourism might not been only bring opportunities for economic development and poverty alleviation but also for environmental and biodiversity sustainability. Thus, this particular study of the Farm Tourism in Indang and Silang: Promotion of Biodiversity and Contribution to Food Security was made. This study was conducted for the purpose of determining the promotion of biodiversity and contribution of food security to two barangays in Indang, and five barangays in Silang, Cavite. Specifically, this study aims to answer the demographic profile of the farms, its products and services, their practices in promoting biodiversity and lastly, how they contribute to food security. The study findings indicated that the respondents are primarily, Sole Proprietors who owns 1 to 5 hectares of land and has been on the operation for quite long years. They produce mainly coconut trees among any other fruit trees, majority of the respondents also have raised animals and their produces processed as by-products. The respondents' promotion of biodiversity such as conservation, sustainable use of resources, land and energy use and use of fertilizers were identified. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, water and soil conservation, water irrigation and use of organic fertilizers were the most common practices and consistently performed in the farms. Though, eco-friendly equipment are seldom used. Majority of the respondents consider their farms organic and they always make sure their water are free of contaminants. The respondents all thought that technology is a great help for them to harvesting and processing their produced products.
