Abstract: DIAZ, MARY GRACE J. and FERNANDEZ, MARY GRACE N. Design and Development of a Low-cost Antenna Trainer. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. Michael T. Costa. The study was conducted from December to April 2018 at Javalera, General Trias, Cavite to design and develop a low-cost antenna trainer. Specifically, it aimed to: design and fabricate the antenna trainer system; develop and validate hands-on set-up exercise for the trainer; test and evaluate the trainer through pilot testing; and conduct a cost comparison analysis. The training system was consisted of three (3) main parts - the transmitter tower, receiver tower and a set of antenna. The design project was composed of FM transceivers, digital SWR meter, transmitter tower, receiver tower and antennas kit. The results of the evaluation revealed that the antenna trainer was excellent. The results also presented that the environmental factors have great effects on the SWR, forward power, reflected power and received power of antennas. The experimental readings on the different environments were comparable to the theoretical values of the antennas. The total cost of the project was Php 12,330.00.
