Abstract: MENDOZA,JOMAR C. Backyard Hog Production in An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Cavite State University, lndang Cavite May 2018. Adviser: Prof. Henry' I Rivero. Generally, the project aimed to give the student entrepreneur to put up a backyard hog production enterprise. Specifically, it aimed to provide the student an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge in hog production into practice, enhance the skills and knowledge in hog raising enterprise, and gain income and profit from the project. The project was conducted at Brgy. Dila,Calaca,Batangas from December 05,2017 to March 20,2018. Four piglets were purchased from a backyard hog raiser in Dila, Calaca, Batangas with an average weight of 14.25 kgs. They were fed 2x a day at 6 am and 3 pm in the afternoon and consumed 4 bags of starter pellets in 30 days and 12 bags of grower pellets in 75 days. During the production, respiratory illness was encountered , and antibiotics were provided; pen was covered Iona surroundings to lessen different illnesses caused by the weather. The final average weight of the four hogs was 97 kg. Feed consumption of four hogs in the whole production cycle is 200 kg. per head with an average daily gain of 830.65 g. in the starter phase and 770.27 g. in grower phase. The average feed conversion efficiency I .94 in starter phase and 2.63 in grower phase. The hogs were marketed at PI 15/kg live weight.
