Abstract: MASICAP, JERICO R. Backyard Hog Raising in Bancod, Indang, Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship major in Animal Production, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018_ Adviser Dr. Irvin dL. Matel. Generally, the entrepreneurial project aimed to expose the student to the actual hog raising production and business management. Specifically, the project aims to apply the proper management practices learned in school in actual hog raising, evaluate the profitability of hog fattening enterprise and earn profit from small-scale hog raising project. This study was conducted in Brgy. Bancod, Indang, Cavite from December 21, 2017 to April 5, 2018. Four weanlings, with an average initial body weight of 13 kg, were used in the project. They were given premium hog starter pellet during the first 32 days and was gradually shifted to premium hog grower pellet during the last 73 days. The total feed consumption was 900kg. After 105 days, the animals attained an average body weight of 80.88kg. Gross sales from the four hogs on live weight basis and from 18 empty feed bags amounted to P22, 454.00. After deducting the expenses of P37, 318.62, the project earned a net income of P2, 662 88 and a return on investment of 7.13 %.
