Abstract: FABELLA, KIMBERLY F. and RAPOSON, RALYN C. Proposed Passenger Terminal Port in Barangay Poblacion Dos, Ternate Cavite. Undergraduate Design Project. . Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla. The study generally aimed to develop the design and analysis of passenger terminal port in Barangay II Poblacion, Ternate Cavite. The design and analysis aimed to enhance the knowledge of the researchers in designing a passenger terminal port with the required site criteria, design considerations and requirements involving construction of building near the shore. The design project includes development plan, architectural drawings, detailed structural plans and design and total estimated cost. The development plan includes the location where the proposed project is located and its size. The proposed project was 1090 square meter. The floor plans, elevation, perspective and schedule of doors and windows were included in the Architectural plans. With the use of Sketch Up, the authors made a realistic image for the proposed project. The Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD pro v8i 2007) software was used to determine the factored axial load (Pu), ultimate shear (Vu) and ultimate moment (Mu) which were used in designing the section of structural members. Pile cap foundation was used in the study considering a building near the shore. The following coefficient were considered: specified yield strength of non-pre-stressed reinforcement was 275 MPa for beams, columns, slabs and column footings; specified compressive strength of concrete was 21 MPa; the unit weight of concrete was 2400 kg/m’; the soil bearing capacity used was 120 kPa: the reduction factor was 0.90 for bending and 0.85 for shear. The section obtained for the purlins was LC 100 x 50 x 15. The sections obtained for truss were L50 x 50 x 8 for web member and top chord and L50 x 50 x 6 for bottom chord. The sizes of beams were 200 mm x 300 mm reinforced with 4-16 mm dia. bars, 150mm x 225 mm reinforced with 3- 16mm dia bars on top and 2- 16 mm dia. bars. the columns obtained dimension of 300 mm x 300 mm reinforced with 8- 20 mm dia. bars. The pile cap support sections obtained were 2m x 2m x 0.7m and 1.5m x 1.5m x 0.7m. The use of pile foundation is suited for the proposed project since it is located near the shore. It is recommended for expansion by adding storey for the future project to be more economical with the use of pile cap support. The total cost of the proposed terminal port was Php 21, 011, 258.64 and the cost per square meter was Php 19, 276.38.
