Abstract: GARRIDO, GABRIEL V. and MANINANG, ANRICK Proposed Design of Three- Storey Precast Concrete School Building at Langkaan II National High School Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Roslyn P. Pena. The study entitled "Proposed Design of Three-storey Precast Concrete School Building at Langkaan II National High School" was conducted at Cavite State University Main Campus from October 2018 to May 2019. The study aimed to provide structural, shop-drawings, and architectural plans ofa three-storey precast school building, provide structural analysis of a three-storey school building that utilized precast concrete, electrical and plumbing plans, comparison of precast between concrete school building and cast-in-situ building in terms of building cost and construction time and to provide cost estimate for both cast-in-situ and precast concrete school building. Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD) software and Computer Aided Drafting Design (CADD) were used and had been a great help to the authors in analyzing the structural members that cannot be in precast form, to accomplished shop-drawing and plans for the three-storey precast concrete school building. The estimated total project cost of the proposed three-storey precast concrete school building was Php. 14,448,748.46 if built in cast-in-situ method and Php.16, 399,006.54 if in precast method. For construction time, a similar three-storey school building was estimated to be done in 300 calendar days compared to 252 days for precast concrete method. Based on the study and information gathered by the researchers, it was found out that with the growing population Langkaan II National School students and for the compliance of the K-12 program of the government, designing a school building was essential. Furthermore, the introduction of the precast method can be beneficial for the engineers of Cavite State University-Main Campus to consider another method for construction. All the procedures and methods done in the study were based on National Structural Code of the Philippines and for the precast members, information gathered from the well-known precast supplier and builder: DATEM Incorporated. After the comprehensive studies and computation done, it can be concluded that all sections and materials used in the are safe and economical. Precast concrete method was also found to be costlier than cast-in-situ. It is recommended that the method to be used in construction whether precast method or cast-in-situ must be based on the urgency, budget, and number of floors of the structure. The researchers found out that the precast method was essential for high-rise building and for structures with high urgency to be utilized. There are also structural members that cannot be in precast form in the Philippines due to its seismic characteristic such as load-bearing beams, columns and footing. Therefore in the design project only outer walls and slab are in precast form. For practicality, cast-in-place is recommended for low-storey buildings and precast method must only be used if high rise building will be constructed.
