Abstract: ADARME, AARON J., BERGONIO, KURT RUSSEL H, and LLAVORE, MYRICH MAUREEN B. Market Viability of Electronic Cards among Public bus commuters in Selected Areas of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Betsy Rose S. Fidel. The study was conducted to determine the market viability of electronic cards among public bus commuters in selected areas of Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to (1) determined the socio-demographic profile of public bus commuters in terms of: age, civil status and occupation; (2) determine the perceived level of market viability of electronic cards among public bus commuters in terms of: awareness, willingness, affordability, accessibility and applicability; and (3) assess the relationship between viability of electronic cards and socio-demographic profile of public bus commuters. The descriptive and correlational methods were used in the study. All these with the use of data gathering and statistical tools such as adapted and self-developed surveys from November 2018 to May 2019, helped the researchers to determine and measure the level of market viability of electronic cards among public bus commuters in selected areas in Cavite. The study used convenience sampling and the target participants were the commuters living in different areas of Cavite which made the researchers come up with the total of 200 commuters who participated in the study. Results showed that those commuters ranging from 19 to 29 years old were mostly aware and were in favor of electronic cards in service transportation. Majority of the participants were single and large percent of participants were students. All in all, electronic cards were highly viable among public bus commuters in Cavite. Generally, findings of the study show that there was a significant relationship between level of willingness and civil status of the commuters and level of affordability and occupation of the commuters in Cavite. In addition, commuters in Cavite were highly in favor for the viability of electronic cards, the implementation of electronic cards is clearly possible in Cavite area. Meanwhile, future researchers may assess if it is viable for bus operators in Cavite to adopt electronic cards and give more light on this research area to improve the topic.
