Abstract: FLORES, JOSHUA and GARCIA, EMELITO I T. Stories of Bereaved Family Members During Oplan Double Barrel in Cavite: Implications to Social Work Practice. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mr. Renato T. Agdalpen, MA The purpose of the study titled "Stories of Bereaved Family Members During Oplan Double Barrel in Cavite: Implications to Social Work Practice" was to know and understand the life of bereaved family members during oplan double barrel in Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to know the life situation of the bereaved family members; the ways of the bereaved family members in continuing their lives; and the social work interventions done by the social worker/s to the bereaved family member/s during Oplan Double Barrel. The researchers utilized narrative qualitative research design. Using the snowball sampling technique, the researchers were able to interview eight individuals from the province of Cavite. Four of them came from the bereaved families and four of them were social workers who worked with the bereaved family members. The participants were carefully traced, selected, and interviewed using the set criteria and with the guide questions validated by three different professionals. Results showed that casual relationship, organized relationship, unclear memories, and devastated relationship are the common themes for the life situation of the bereaved families before their loved ones were killed due to Oplan Double Barrel. Further results showed that contentment and acceptance, painful acceptance, development of social awareness, and assuming the role of the head of the family were the common themes in the said aspect. To present the social work interventions, the professionals and the bereaved family members were interviewed by the researchers. According to the bereaved family members counseling, education, and family therapy were the interventions that they experienced as they worked with social workers. Moreover, counseling, family therapy, family support group, education, legal counsel, legal assistance, family counseling, crisis intervention, education, group therapy, financial assistance, burial assistance, and psychosocial therapy were the interventions conducted by the social workers as they handled bereaved family members.
